At one of the Scrapbooking Expos that I participated in, I had designed a card and it received quite a bit of attention. People walking by my table would stop and pick up the card to figure out how I created it. Now, it is not an original idea as I have seen this card in some magazines and on the Internet, but it is designed with my own photos. So I am sharing the card with you. You can create it with your own photos and ideas.
This is known as a stacker or pyramid card. It is easy to create as long as you measure accurately.
The photos I used were taken in Glacier National Park. On the back of my cards I like to tell people that the photos were taken by me and where. Take credit for your work.
This is the outside of the card.
Some photos do not work with stacking, so you have to experiment.
This is the inside of the card. I was lucky to catch this photo. On the right hand corner, I made a box with text in it.
Print out one card both sides.
Note: I started to make this card without borders, but that caused me problems with printing. I then added a small white border. So the front of the card now has a border also.
Stacker or Pyramid Card
Take the photo you used on the front of the card and print three more images. Depending upon what size your photo is, you may have to use more than one sheet of paper stock. DO NOT RESIZE as this changes the properties of the photo. You will be cutting the photos down to the proper size.
I used a paper cutter to cut nice and straight. First I cut out the photos separately. Next I measure. The first photo you will cut all four sides with a 3/8" border. The second photo will be a 3/4" border and the last photo will have a border of 1 1/8". I mark with pencil lightly so I know where to cut. Take your time with measuring and cutting as this is the most important part.
After I trim the photos to the proper size, I like to ink the edges. This makes the layers more defined. Just rub the edges moving the photo straight across the ink pad.

There are several products you can use to stack the photos. Since my photo is large, I chose to use corrigated cardboard. This was wonderful as I had plenty laying around the house. It provided strength to my photos. I used double-sided tape to attach the cardboard to the photo. Place tape on the backside and attach to the card. Carefully line up the features in the photo. Take your time as you do not have a second chance. A mismatch will ruin your card.
Any questions, email me (button on top of page) and I will try to assist you as best as I can. Also, you can do some Internet searches for stacker cards or pyramid cards and see what others have created.

Here is another card I created. It has two stacks.
And here is the completed front of the card.
